i find it disturbing that in fable II my female character can get married to another woman, yet in my real life place of residence my same sex friends can't.
Seriously... what does it do besides make a commitment bound by a legal document? Oh, a tax break? Pssh...
That's what always cracks me up about the fight for same sex marriage. Then again, I guess they're just fighting for equality. They don't want to be told they can't do something just cause they're gay. Right?
i can see that point, but i think it's also their rights to have a socially recognized and accepted union to the person they cherish that adds to the sting of why it isn't legal.
i think that celebrity marriages are much more of a black spot on matrimony than if adam and steve wanna get married. i always think of my uncle and his boyfriend of 49 years. they live the most normal life i've ever been raised around, except for the fact that they both have penises. they wake up, have breakfast together, water their plants, etc etc etc. they have a very healthy and loving relationship, yet they're not allowed to marry.
meanwhile, elsewhere south of the mason dixon, billy joe pops the shit out of jilly anne till she's missing teeth, but it's okay for them to marry, even if she marries him out of fear and not love.
i dunno, i understand not caring either way, and i understand why the homosexual society wants their right to marry. what i don't understand is why it's not allowed.
