after pointing out glaring oversights and explaining my situation to a very nice associate director of financial aid lady over in the financial aid office, she apparently both identified with me and felt that the decision that was made was not thoroughly weighed or examined. i was relieved someone saw my side of things and i wasn't just some loon that felt some great injustice had been done when in fact i deserved it. she was not able to help me though, because it was outside her realm of power, so i just went and laid in bed with my tail between my legs.
then i heard my email indicator about an hour later.
i got up to read my email and was greeted by this (well, here's an excerpt of it):
"I have decided to overturn the decision and grant you one final opportunity. Your Academic Progress appeal is now approved for the summer III term. In order to receive financial aid for the Fall 2010 semester, you must meet the following criteria:
Complete every attempted course in the summer with a grade of C or higher. If you withdraw from a course or receive a grade of C- or lower in any course, all further appeals will be denied.

i can do that with my brain tied behind my back!
the nice woman in financial aid apparently went to the actual person that made the decision to deny my aid and pled my case. i can't believe the luck i've had with amazing kent state employees while trying to get myself legit and back in action to finish this mess. i can't wait to be done with this university, but i need to make sure to take down the names of all the people that have been amazing to me and send them gift baskets or gift cards or something, because these people have seriously gone over and above for me.
