so i've talked in great detail about how much i abhor retail management, how soulless and uncaring it is, but one thing i have picked up is how to run a business, and run it well. anything i've been put in charge of i have done well and ended up being one of, if not THE best at it. i know that sounds egotistical, but the numbers don't lie - i am damn good at what i do.

well, an opportunity has seemingly fallen in my lap as of this week, an opportunity that frankly scares the shit out of me. i am taking over an actual grass-roots business. not corporate bullshit. taking over as in CEO of a business as old as i am. in fact, it was created the day i was born - the day may father was laid off almost 30 years ago and decided he'd had enough of working for other people.

my father has made it clear that he wants to pass the buck and he knows i can do it. i'm already the "owner" of the business, which up until now meant signing paychecks and making sure his whore ex-wife doesn't get her hands on anything. so for the time being i am an underling, learning from the papa bear while still working a corporate bullshit job enough to keep the bills paid.

but wow. i guess this means i finally have officially grown up...

Congratulations on growing up!

And it is not egotistical to know what you are good at.
