i really liked the village, but apparently in this film he's "stripping down" to basics. plus, i have a deep-seeded fear of epic pandemic illness that i like to entertain with freaky movies like this (hence my obsession with zombie movies and stuff like the andromeda strain) so it's right up my alley.
they're being really careful not to give away too much, but it seems there's a "happening" that at first they attribute to terrorists then finally admit that they don't know where it came from, but it disarms the human survival response. it scares the SHIT outta me!!!

Replace the name Shamamamamama with JJ Abrams and fanboys would foam at the mouth. May have to see it anyway.
