i wish to god you were my nurse instead of the miserable hacks i had.
promise me you'll never try to force someone from dilaudid to vicodin 500's 12 MOTHERFUCKING HOURS OUT OF MAJOR SURGERY. i threw a five alarm hissy fit. looking back i feel kinda bad, but she simply would not listen. i told her "dude, did you even read my chart?" and she'd like "we like to wean you off of intravenous drugs as soon as possible" and i was all like "bitch, i'm less than 12 hours out of MAJOR surgery. can i have my big kid drugs please?!
nurses can get very judgemental when it comes to narcotics. they either seem to want to shove them down your throat(iv) or say that you are drug seeking. its kinda sad really how much you see of that...not drug seeking, but the nursing judgemental team.
i know, any problem i've ever had with pain killers is usually from nurses who didn't even bother to look at my chart. i do not have seeking behavior in the least, and pre-op i was on percocet 7.5-325 BECAUSE vicodins weren't strong enough.
but seriously, what i had was major surgery, she could not have possibly thought it would be a good idea to take me off of pain meds 12 hours after having my abdomen opened, organs moved, disk scraped, metal implants put in, bone growing protein injected (which causes "growing pains"), sewed up, flipped over, cut equally as long along my spine, rods secured by bolts into my pedicles and then stapled shut all the while being intubated (which really sucks afterwards).
i seriously thought she was kidding. i blinked a couple times and was like "um... what's this?" she's all "vicodin" i laugh, she's doesn't. i was just like "are you serious? like really?" i made a big deal out of it because frankly i was in agony and the dilaudid wasn't even taking care of it, wtf was vicodin supposed to do? she made another nurse come in to give me the correct drugs cuz she was so pissed at me. on the way out of my room and to anyone she passed she made sure to announce really loud "I'LL BE RIGHT BACK, I HAVE TO TRASH THESE BECAUSE THE PATIENT REFUSED THEM ::condescending snort::"
something tells me you won't be a cuntzilla nurse like that tho.
