i woke up today unable to speak - how awesome is that? i also only slept three hours because stupid alka-seltzer plus night cold only lasts about 4 hours. maybe my body is just really resistant to sedatives now, who knows.

so i emailed my teachers to let them know there's no way in hell i could drag myself in(they've all gotta think i'm making this shit up - flu one week, docs appointments another, wikkid cold this week... wtf?!) and to see if i can make up whatever we do in classes today.

so after some water and a couple sprays of chloroseptic i have a hoarse 50-year-old lounge singer voice. awesome :P. and i still have to work goddamnit.

oh, and my next back thinger is on nov 5. i have to get an IV and a CT scan and all kinds of other abbreviated things. i'm not pleased.

can i just stop being sick/injured already? i'm so tired of all of this.

pick and choose;

headache, sore throat, swollen lymph nodes under jaw, + productive cough, no cough at all, fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, chills, night sweats, runny nose, swollen tonsils, gunk on the back of your throat (may need help from joey checking this one) anything i missed?

let me know what you have, i'll let you know what to ask for from your doctor to help stave off the worst.

lets see, on day 4 now.

day 1: started out with really sore lungs, like i'd smoked a pack of cigarettes in my sleep, then around 8pm (12 hours into my day) sore throat, very minor fever (i'm usually 98 and i was 98.6), chills, aches (but i always have body aces so i'm not sure if i can classify anything by that), dizziness, weakness, dry raspy cough

day 2: minor fever, chills, clammy, dry cough, stuffy nose, sore throat, chest pain, dizzy, nauseous, raspy voice at best, skin felt like it was on fire. i really don't even remember the day

day 3: same as day 2

day 4: sore throat, productive cough (i haven't been anywhere suitable for a spit check though to tell you any fun colors), stuffy nose, skin still feeling like its on fire, voice still not very strong - in fact i think it's getting worse

it kinda feels like how i felt when i had viral pharyngitis now that i think about it...

it sounds like whats going on down here in J-ville. we've seen a bit of bronchitis lately, and i wonder if it going around a bit.

i'd see if you can score some Tesalon pearls if the cough starts to hurt your lungs/chest. Ask for this if your doc trusts you;

Deconsol (Sudafed/guafenisin) pills PO BID x 10 days #20 R #0.

That'll help you dry up which will help the throat with less exudate, then it'll make you cough more as the guafenisin breaks up the nastiness in your lungs. if you get this med, you'll want to up your water/ gatorade intake...it'll dry you out.

if its viral all you can do is treat symptomatically... :( but then again, we're 700 miles away and im just going off of your Symptoms. but im that good heheh.

feel better!

day 5: i seem to be doing better finally. i'm really stuffy and my throat itches but that's about it. i haven't tried talking yet so i don't know if i have a voice or not. perhaps i'll go chase the kitties around: "kittykittykittykittykittykittymeowwww!"

they always look so confused...

i have the same issues with otc remedies. if it says it lasts 12 hours, im typically only good for about three. actually, three hours is pretty much the max regardless of how long its *supposed* to work for. i dont remember how credible my source was, but i remember reading/hearing somewhere that its like that with people who have been addicts. that a theraputic dosage is typically higher in those who have addiction problems. kinda makes sense, but i dont know the science behind it. i do know its like that for me though, i even need more novocaine when im at the dentist or getting stitches. hope you feel better!
