shopping for temporary health insurance until mine kicks in from my new job...


any pointers?

what i NEED:

* a STRONG Rx plan
* lab/x-ray at least partially covered
* low co-pay for doctor's visits

i'll only need this for 1-2 month's tops until my union benefits kick in, but all my research keeps leaving me chasing my tail. my current health insurance died as of 1/1/06 and doesn't offer COBRA...

i've been continuously insured for 12 years and will have my pre-existing condition certificate so i can't be denied because of that, just higher premiums :X

i'm a novice at this crap :P

Try googling Fortis.

I know they changed their name, but I had them for a few months between jobs..
it was somehwere in the range of $75 a month..
but, it was Medical Mutual insurance. Not too bad.

I got some insurance for a little while from Amerihealth. They were supposedly the best for a lot of reasons. I don't know anything about insurance, though, and I don't have the patience to learn. All of the stuff about the premiums and deductibles and all that... I can't stand it. I have a terrible phobia of financial terminology. *twitch*
