the closer the surgery gets, the more scared i get.

t-minus 3.5 days...

i'm looking forward to the anesthesia, narcotics, muscle relaxers and other assorted fun stuff.

i'm also looking forward to being able to sit up without assistance, being able to shave my legs and put on non-slip-on shoes, shift my car without wincing, sit at work... BEING ABLE TO PUT ON MY FUCKING PANTS WITHOUT ASSISTANCE OR CONTORTIONIST CIRCUS TRICKS WITH MY KNEES!!!! being able to get out of bed without sllliiiiiiding off the mattress and rolling onto my knees to get up to go to work.

i can't wait to return to (ab)normal life.

still doesn't change the fact that i'm terrified. i mean, who wants some guy playing around in your spinal nerve roots with a big ol' needle?

god i hope this works.

kudos to my honey for being my rock. i love you.

Wow, good luck with the back surgery - I really hope it accomplishes what you need it to. Do you have scoliosis too? It kinda looked like it on that X-ray you put on here that one time.

Good luck with your surgery! I know it will be nice to be able to get around on your own again. I would be afraid too, but ultimately it sounds like this is the only thing they can do for you. Maybe they'll give you dilaudid, that would rock much ass.
