so i went to warped tour yesterday.

okay, first some background:

i've been sick for about 2 weeks with a really bad cough that only gets worse. so sunday at work i actually went home early ::gasp:: because i kept feeling like i was gonna pass out. i toughed it out on monday only to wake up with no voice tuesday. i couldn't even call off cuz i couldn't talk so i went in to tell my boss then high tailed it to the walk-in medical clinic. the quack, er, doctor says my sinuses are packed up and have to be drained and that they're dripping into my lungs. yum. she recommends pseudoephidrine and a neti pot. a quick refill of my inhaler (because all of this has agitated my asthma like woah) and some advil sinus later and i'm back in bed. i use the neti pot (what a weird experience, let me tell you), pop some pseudoephidrine and go to sleep since i have to work in the morning.

ha.

i woke up the next day still unable to talk, only now my eye is crusted shut. great. joey (who is newly laid off - AGAIN) lets me know that it appears i have pink eye somehow. i call my boss, not sure if i should come in or not. i figure if he makes the call he can't be mad at me and he says to stay home, thank goodness. so i go to the good ol' walk in clinic again, crusty eye and all. i get some burning eye drops and go home.

so i had tickets to warped tour for a few months now. they were *not* cheap. so when i woke up sticky-eyed and feeling crappy i would be damned if i didn't go, and joey said he wouldn't go without me. so i saddled up, half awake. i had an unrelated doctor appointment first thing in the morning, then we were going to leave from there to go to cleveland. so we did.

now, there were only a handful of bands i wanted to see, one of which was NOFX who has been one of my favorite bands for almost 2 decades, hence not wanting to miss this. bad religion was playing too who has also been one of my favorite bands for almost as long. when we got to cleveland there was absolutely no parking. like literally. like every single lot in at least a 2 or so miles had "lot full" signs. finally joey bartered with an attendant in a lot that was charging $20 and we parked. as we walked up to the venue we could hear a familiar song, only to realize that it was bad religion, playing a VERY early time slot. LAME. NOFX was playing much later so we walked around the emo-fest in anticipation. about 3/4 of the way thru the day i realized i never put on any sunscreen. i shrugged it off thinking "hey, i'm not burned now, i'll be okay."

big mistake.

i have NEVER been burned this bad in my entire life. the heat alone from the burns is almost intolerable. i'm a deep cherry red and in so much pain. top that with the fact that i'm *still* sick and *still* have pink eye, now i'm nauseous from the pain of the sunburn to top it all off.

just kill me already. seriously.
