i should really watch what i say...

i called for an update on when i can get my car since my ride to get my car has to leave for work soon, and what to my surprise awaited me?!

they have to replace the whole power steering pump now. you know, the part that they had to order a part for and fuck around with for the last few weeks? yeah, it broke, and now they're just going to replace the whole damn thing like they should have in the first place. so all those hours of labor they accumulated by monkeying around with an already broken part? money in their pocket.

also, what's more extra exciting, is that the guy said they're *still* working on the motor/transmission mount - you know, the part that they were working on when i went to get the car seat. i also asked why the car sat for and entire week in the beginning and he had a totally different answer than the last guy, and also stated that it was last week that it sat. i'm wondering if anyone has done any work at all at this point, considering according to the employees, the car has sat for a week on two separate occasions.

i swear to god, when i get it back i'm not driving it unless i absolutely can't avoid it so that i don't ever fuck it up again and have to go through this again. such a lovely three weeks to be off meds - three weeks of getting jerked around by grease monkeys that can't get their stories strait. three weeks of hoarding money and not paying for meds i really needed to be on so i can afford the deductible. i'm going to have to take out another fucking loan just to LIVE, especially trying to keep gas in joey's car with the leaky gas tank. i went from filling up once a month to twice a week. there's an extra $60 twice a week i certainly had to fart out my ass.

the ETA now? MAYBE tuesday. more than likely wednesday. A WEEK AND A HALF AFTER THE ORIGINAL ETA! and to think they originally said that it was minor damage. minor my ass.

I hate to make assumptions, but mechanics have a reputation for screwing over female customers. If they put in a part and it broke before you ever got to it, there is no way that you should pay for it or the work they put into it. I would be very suspicious of what they are saying.

Good luck.

all i am responsible for is the deductible but i think the insurance company might be interested since the power steering pump is ANOTHER $400 (that's what the guy at the shop said at least).

i'm gonna at least call the insurance company and ask what their opinion is. i've been really mellow and non-bitchy to them over at the shop this whole time and i'm just really tired of having had to put my life on hold over a fender bender. a friend of me and joey's works in a body shop and he said (after seeing the estimate and write up of the damage) that the work shouldn't have taken more than 4 days, and that's spending 4-5 hours a day on my car, which they said they have been.
