my staples are itching and driving me crazy. they come out on the 11th. i wonder if they have some sort of giant version of a desktop staple puller. i hope so because that would be hilarious.

the cut in the front ended up being about 6-7 inches across and the back 7-8 inches vertical. the back has the staples - makes me look like a serious badass ;).

i'm getting pains that feel like "growing pains" when you're a kid. i'm assuming that's the bone growing.

i'm able to walk a few feet without my walker now, so that's a plus.

it's weird, my spine itself doesn't really hurt too bad. i mean, other than the giant slice down my back (makes me look like i have a really long butt crack, lol). no sciatica. for the first time in YEARS. but the incision in the front - jesus it hurts. any time i cough, talk loud, laugh, sneeze. it hurts worse than the things they fixed!

that's about it. just working on rebuilding.

do you have an abdominal binder to wear to offer support when you cough/sneeze/laugh? they can really help with the *guts are going to spill out* feeling. also, if you dont have that, you can try to hold a pillow or folded blanket firmly against the incision when you do those things...

When they took my staples out, they used a tool that just kind of looked like pliers. It's relatively painless, the removal I mean. It irritated the skin a bit and left me a little sore afterwards. Otherwise, not too bad. They'll probably put some paper tape stitches over the incision once they remove the staples, never, ever, EVAR pull them off. *has flashbacks*

I agree with the holding the pillow/blanket against the incision. That helps A LOT. Feels like there's something there to hold all your junk in.
