i wonder what excuse those fucks at the body shop are going to come up with today as to why my car isn't done. i'm not even going to call them until like noon so they have time to come up with a good one.
so my patience paid off!!
not only are the mechanics *still* working on the power steering pump (note: they have been struggling to figure out how to replace the pulley all this time. between how much money they've racked up with almost an entire extra week's worth of labor along with having to order the part outside of their regular orders because they "forgot" to order it when they ordered the rest of what they needed, it costs just about as much as just buying a whole goddamn new power steering pump and putting it on, which they know how to do), but they're still struggling with replacing the motor mount, which is exactly what they were working on when i went to the shop to get the car seat out of the car ALMOST TWO GODDAMN WEEKS AGO.
seriously, i think they're trying to milk the insurance company for every last cent they can get out of them at the expense of my freedom, my ability to get to doctor's appointments, my ability to transport my stepson in a vehicle that is safe and road worthy and my ability to make it to classes (especially when joey's car wont start and i sit in the parking lot for a half hour trying to get it going so i can get to my next class, and by the time the car is running there's only 15 minutes left in said class). i'm so glad i could help line their pockets while they jerk off and pretend that new problems keep popping up. i think that they should establish better communication because all the "new" problems they keep having are the exact same "new" problems they've had before, it's just someone different telling me. the guy i talked to on saturday told me that my car sat there for a week before anyone even looked at it, and that no one had any idea where it came from so they just ignored it. A WEEK!
i swear i'm going to pick up my car packing heat if it's ever finished.

also, does anyone else find it immensely amusing that the snack vending machine at coleman* had "nutty bars" in it today?!
* coleman is the county sponsored mental health facility here. this place is notorious for their crazies because their funding gets cut every year and have to put patients that would be best helped in an inpatient program into outpatient, but they still have to report to get their meds daily so you can often see people ambling about having in-depth discussions with mailboxes and road signs...

i should really watch what i say...
i called for an update on when i can get my car since my ride to get my car has to leave for work soon, and what to my surprise awaited me?!
they have to replace the whole power steering pump now. you know, the part that they had to order a part for and fuck around with for the last few weeks? yeah, it broke, and now they're just going to replace the whole damn thing like they should have in the first place. so all those hours of labor they accumulated by monkeying around with an already broken part? money in their pocket.
also, what's more extra exciting, is that the guy said they're *still* working on the motor/transmission mount - you know, the part that they were working on when i went to get the car seat. i also asked why the car sat for and entire week in the beginning and he had a totally different answer than the last guy, and also stated that it was last week that it sat. i'm wondering if anyone has done any work at all at this point, considering according to the employees, the car has sat for a week on two separate occasions.
i swear to god, when i get it back i'm not driving it unless i absolutely can't avoid it so that i don't ever fuck it up again and have to go through this again. such a lovely three weeks to be off meds - three weeks of getting jerked around by grease monkeys that can't get their stories strait. three weeks of hoarding money and not paying for meds i really needed to be on so i can afford the deductible. i'm going to have to take out another fucking loan just to LIVE, especially trying to keep gas in joey's car with the leaky gas tank. i went from filling up once a month to twice a week. there's an extra $60 twice a week i certainly had to fart out my ass.
the ETA now? MAYBE tuesday. more than likely wednesday. A WEEK AND A HALF AFTER THE ORIGINAL ETA! and to think they originally said that it was minor damage. minor my ass.

i realize all i've been doing is bitching lately, and i'm sorry.
i've been going off of my anti-depressant/pain med because it's just too expensive for me anymore, so i've been uber bitchy. coupled with the car crap and i'm a fucking joy to be around. i swear, joey has the patience of mother theresa.
all and all life really isn't so bad. classes are going well, and they're REALLY interesting. especially the forensic psychology class. i have to assess a famous serial killer based on their background and the details of the case, and we aren't told who the killer is. they're from all over the world too, not just the US. we haven't been assigned them yet because we have to learn the basics of forensic assessment first.
joey and i continue to thrive more and more with each hurtle. we recently bonded deeper than i have EVER bonded with a significant other, and was able to let out a skeleton that's been hanging out in my closet for a very long time, and so was he. i felt like a ton of bricks had been lifted off of me.
dexter is thriving as well. since everyone has relaxed around each other now the cats are sometimes in a ridiculously close proximity of each other. dexter and nadjia were SNUGGLING today (until they got caught). our little (growing) family is doing well.
dad wants to buy the house he's living in under my name, so i'll be a homeowner (heheheheheh). as a reward we get the other side of the duplex, which is a GIANT two bedroom beast with a full basement (the basement alone is twice the size of my apartment) that has a little bar in it and a workshop complete with pegboard for joey's and my bikes/skateboards. it's a really nice setup with a full backyard (and a spot for a GARDEN!!!!!! i love me some gardening!!!) and two car garage, plus my daddy will be right next door so i won't have to worry about him so much.
so yeah, life's not so bad, it's just the damn car thing is so infuriating and frustrating.
