ah the weekends. the time of week when you finally get to sleep in and take a break from the complexities of life.
WRONG
guess who's up? guess who will not be able to sleep in until saturday next week? guess who's been on about 4 hours sleep every day this week?
i hate my job. stone cold hate. it's still not at bad as realty, but it's up there as a close #2 (hehehehe). if that place caught on fire and burnt down, i'm pretty sure i'd do a little happy dance.
BUT - there is cause for celebration. the end of this shithole of an apartment building is near. we sign the lease for our new place monday, and here is is:
I'M GOING TO HAVE A BACK YARD! A BIG BACK YARD! AND A WASHER/DRYER (don't worry, i'll share the love)! 2 FREAKING BATHROOMS! the walk in closet on the master bedroom is literally about half the size of my current bedroom.
it cost about as much as a standard one bedroom does around here too. see, this town has like 8 major apartment complexes. well, one company decided to go ahead and buy up the majority of them and raise rent by a few hundred dollars. one of the first apartments i had around here back in '01 is now just above $700. for a two bedroom with a pitiful excuse for a living room. the apartments i live in now have gone up about $150 since i moved in. for 500 sq ft. luckily i'm grandfathered in under the old rate (which is still advertised on all the sites i've seen...). the rates in this town are seriously a few hundred (by few i mean like 2-3) more than lakewood was.
so i'm moving out of this wretched city. it's seriously become a shithole. it's like ravenna (white trash mecca of northeast ohio) and akron (the ghetto) had a love child. this used to be a great place to live. it was clean, people didn't get gang raped on a regular basis (aside from up by the frat houses) riding the bus wasn't a terrifying experience...
but alas i must bid farewell to this wonderland. goodbye 13 year olds pushing double wide strollers. good bye future save-a-lot. goodbye newports and pot smoke billowing in my windows. good bye car getting keyed all the time (or doors opened into it).
jesus i want to go back to bed. joey wants to go out to his friend's house tonight. i think i'm going to tell him to go without me, except i know he won't so his friends are gonna think i make him stay here or whatever. i just want to sleep, that's all.
