so as many of you know my brother is a felon. he's been on probation for the better part of 2.5 years and spent most of the time before in and out of correctional facilities since the age of 12.

in october 2004 a miracle happened - he became a daddy. that straitened his ass right the fuck up. for the first time since he was a kid he stayed out of trouble 100%, reported to his probation officer meetings and behaved himself.

so last week he had to miss a meeting with his PO because he couldn't find a sitter for my nephew (never struck him to CALL ME!!!) and he was absolutely sure that he was going to go to jail for probation violation at his meeting today. so he calls me to see if i'd be able to take my nephew down to my dad's house until he gets out of lock up, and of course i oblige.

well...

he goes to this meeting, and his PO isn't even there. obviously no one was thinking about locking him up at that point and his PO told him to just get a hold of him later. so my brother decides to go to work.

now, he works for a construction company along with a bunch of other ex-cons (felonies don't look so swell on job apps so he has to take what he can get). they're driving into work and somehow they manage to get pulled over. cops search the vehicle once they see they caught a car full of felons and find some illicit substances...

well, long story short he's sitting in jail right now because the other dude wouldn't admit to it being his, and of course my brother says it wasn't his either. so now, after 2.5 years of walking the strait and narrow, he gets busted.

that is the prime example of the luck that runs in our family. we'll dodge a bullet only to get hit with a mac truck.

at least i'll get to see my nephew for a little while...
